CBB: Jim Calhoun is taking a fucking leave of absence, will not give a dime back when he does

• UConn basketball coach Jim Calhoun taking a leave of absence, perhaps due to health reasons again…
• Don’t ask him why and if you want some advice, just shut up…
• Don’t expect him to give back a dime of the money he’ll make on leave either.

Let me state for the record that up until last year when Jim Calhoun more or less admitted that basketball recruiting is sometime a place where rules were meant to be bent and either you bend or you are fired, I really, really liked him.  When he admitted in some terms that there were corners that could and were cut, well, it knocked a little luster off the silver shine he built up over the years with me.  Did he tell the truth…well, kind of…and you have to respect him for it…I guess.

It’s also very sad to see him perhaps taking a leave of absence due to his health.  He will take a leave from the ranked Huskies right awayhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX6FDEDbesE.  Let’s hope the coach is back to being his normal Northeaster Asshole self sooner than later.  He’s a college basketball icon and a lifer who you don’t get a lot of bullshit from.  Just remember not to give him any bullshit if you are a reporter.

Calhoun who had prostate cancer back in 2003 and has dealt with both skin cancer and heart issues will take a leave of absence for an undetermined amount of time.  Let’s just be sure though, that he brings in over $12-million dollars to UConn a year and this break won’t see him give back a dime of his salary, not a dime.
