#3. Tennessee Titans pick Vince Young

Posted: April 29th, 2006 | Author: Zim | Filed under: Uncategorized | 1 Comment »

Uncle Rico goes before Matt Leinart in the draft…much to the disappointment of Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher and O.C. Norm Chow

QB-Vince Young–Texas–6′4 1/2 219lbs.

This pick wasn’t much of a surprise here.   The Titans owner Bud Adams from Houston, the home of Vince Young–wanted this guy one way or another even if his HC and OC probably would have liked Leinart here.   The Titans now have to decide what to do with franchise QB Steve McNair who was recently barred from mini-camp in Nashville.

Young comes from a simplistic offense at Texas and it will be a difficult transition to the Pro game for Young.

And now…

The New York J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets are now on the clock (INSERT BOOING JETS FAN NOISE HERE)

J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets!!!

I only like this pick if the Titans somehow keep McNair to tutor Vince for a year. If they get rid of McNair and throw Young in there right away…. well, I know everyone says that he’s very special, but we’ll see how special he is I guess.
